Wooden carvings on the 750 year old temple.Quite beautiful and peaceful.Lots of character too.Nestled amongst the carved pillars were a few shrines.
Heading back from the temple, through rice paddies on our way to the Royal Bontanic Gardens. We just loved some of the colourful styles the locals wore. Seemed like a perfect place for some revision (the university is just across the road). The collection of grasses.
Palm tree collection.Bamboo collection.
Some holy basil. Not much call for it in Sri Lanka, but it’s everywhere in Thailand!Cactus flowers.Natalie was impressed with this weird and wonderful tree.
Bats! As we were sitting on the lawn in the previous picture, we could hear a big ruckus off in the distance. When we wandered over there, we found the source of the commotion.
These cuties came over to say “hi” at one point.
Such colours! This little girl spotted a turtle in the fountain. The palm tree avenue. Highly instagramable spot.
