Galle

Our first night in Galle. We arrived in the afternoon, and decided to wander down to the old Fort, as the sunset was meant to be very nice. The sky was certainly dynamic, as were the people who had come out to see it. A lovely mix of foreigners and locals.
The next day, we set out to see the fort properly. As you can see here it was a stunningly sunny day. We gave up after a couple of hours, as the heat was just brutal.
This cat had the right idea.
Don’t even think about using your clown horns here.
The fort is a relic left from when the Dutch were here. It’s a couple of hundred years old. Basically modern Sri Lanka, in comparison to some of the other sights we’ve seen here.
What you can’t see here, is how brutal it would have been to try and assault this wall.
The crows were arseholes. Always complaining. Just lurking around in case some food showed up.
*vomit* (‘Galle’ rhymes with ‘all’)
This old building is now some kind of nautical museum. We didn’t go in, as it sounded like someone was throwing an EDM party.
So ancient….
We stopped by the Catholic church. The floor was covered in things like this. Too bad I don’t speak Dutch.
The outside of the church. Quaint cobbled streets galore.
Cows. They were just roaming around as they pleased.
