Photos of not the palace,  mostly.

The Grand Palace grounds. We missed visiting this during our last trip to Bangkok (though Natalie had been the time before that). Super touristy. Super crowded. Definitely a cool thing to see.

I found the unapologetically gold buildings and details wild.
Check out this crazy dude.
I really liked the symmetry of this angle.

We didn’t have a guide, but I wonder if they’d have been able to shed a little light on to some of the characters.

It was a blissfully overcast day. By the time we were finishing up, the sun was really breaking out, making us glad for the earlier shade. It was HOT.

Again, a guide could have probably told us a little about what the murals were depicting, but I found them fascinating anyway.

The crowds. The sun. By this point, we were on our way out.
…after a brief stop into a shrine…
The large portion of the Grand Palace, is actually the temples and shrines associated with it. This is one of the out buildings of the Palace.

The exit. Guarded by a pair of these twit-like lions.
