A semi-domesticated Meerkat, empty road, no road, cold ocean, and swimming in tea

This meerkat is an orphan, and was raised by a cat on a farm. His name was the Afrikaans word for a particular type of skinny fish bone.
Double rainbow!
Natalie strikes off to explore the empty road.
We stopped by the side of the road to take some photos (and stretch our legs).
The road, stretching onwards, seemingly forever.
At one point, Natalie read out the next navigation instructions… “Are you sure?!”. What followed was about an hour of driving over a mountain pass, on bumpy and rocky dirt roads.
Arrived at Plettenberg bay! Just as we arrived, it clouded over dramatically.
The surf was pretty fierce, and the water frigid. There were still people swimming.
The next day, we tried our hand at the Striptease trail hike (see Natalie’s post on this for more details). The water was slightly flavoured by the leaves, so that it tasted a little like tea. This was the last (and best) pool along the trail.
Natalie demonstrates how to cross a river with her fancy hiking boots… (I was still hiking in my converse at this stage…)

Hi. Can you explain where you were driving from as I’ve never seen Plettenberg Bay like that. What road did you take to get there?

      Hi Stefan,

We were driving from Cradok by way of Graaf Reinet and De Vlugt. Initially taking N9 before splitting off onto R339 then R340 to Plettenberg Bay.

      Hope that helps!
