A forest of quivertrees, giant rocks, and old fossils

Heading back along the B4 was just as pretty as the first time, but the next stop was a forest of quivertrees!

We pulled into the campsite with plenty of time to set up, have some dinner, and then wander the forest as the sun set.

There were heaps of these little Hyrax guys everywhere.
The lighting was a lot of fun.

At one point, we heard a bit of noise, and were treated to the sight of this guy scrambling his way over some rocks.
The colours only got more exciting as the sun set.

Changing focus for a bit, the setting sun turned the distant mountains a light purple.

I think I must have said something inappropriate, hence Natalie’s reaction.

As always, clouds only make a sunset better.

The next day, we hit up Giant’s Playground.
Hundreds of thousands of rocks, all positioned precariously atop one another.

Also, some plantlife.
More rocks.

A demonstration of a quiver, which gave the quivertrees their name.
Back at the campsite, some local parrots stopped by.
Seeing as we were staying two nights, we couldn’t not stop by the forest for a second sunset.

Our trusty vehicle, and sweet camping spot.
