The Tropic of Capricorn, the middle of nowhere, and seaside wildlife

Setting out from Sesriem, we stopped off at Solitare for some apple pie. While there, I snapped a photo of this little squirrel-like guy.
Old rusting cars seem to be popular in Namibia.
Our first sighting of Zebra!
Again, the colours are just unreal.
We made it! Funnily enough, we crossed it again coming south through Botswana, and there was no sign to mark it…
Long story short, we took a slight… detour… and ended up somewhere we didn’t intend to end up. We got a pretty view out of it though! This is the night of our arrival….
…And the next morning!
But we finally made it to Swakopmund! While there, we took a delightful boat trip out into the bay (of Walvis bay, actually), and saw plenty of wildlife!
Flamingos, finally!

The animals around here know what’s up, and when they see a boat, they flock.

One of the reasons for coming out is to check out the huge seal colonies.
After exiting the bay, into the open sea, the chances of seeing dolphins (and sometimes whales) increases!

We were also lucky enough to see a (fairly rare) sunfish! They’re weird-arse looking things.

Included in the boat trip, a feast of oysters, sparkling wine, and other goodies.

On the way back to Swakopmund, we got to see some flamingos up close.
There are two species in Swakop: The pink and the white.
